Prince - DLAP

Prince
DaFredo Line Art Portrait

U got the look!

During the summer of 2019 I visited Paisley Park, Prince's domain close to Minneapolis. Very impressed walking around the studio's, his private concert hall and night club that all have turned into a museum after his death.

Two things were very clear after this visit. First: this is going to be my next artwork. And second: the color!

Like later on with the David Bowie DLAP, finding the right picture was way more of a challenge: Which Prince  (or Symbol or TAFKAP or whatsoever) am I going to do?

It turns out that the look in their eyes is the most critical criterium to me. And probably the most exiting moment during creation is when I finish the first eye. Working upclose, drawing lines you have no clue how good it is, until the eyes appear and you take a  few steps back to watch it from a distance: WOW! Did it again!
